Orchestra of Distinction

Each year at regional concert performance assessment events around the state, orchestras are adjudicated and rated in concert performance and sight-reading. While there are some excellent orchestras that achieve the top rating of Superior, few of these orchestras will stand out as exceptional with superior ratings in each subcategory from all judges. It is for this honor that TnASTA Orchestra of Distinction in Concert Performance exists. This special recognition will be given to those orchestras that earn a perfect score – all Superior ratings – in all categories and from all judges both on stage and in sight-reading.

Orchestras that qualify for the Orchestra of Distinction in Concert Performance should apply following their regional Concert Performance Event. Please email the name of the ensemble, school address, and a scan of all completed judges’ sheets to the TnASTA president. Your current TnASTA president is Lori McDermott.

Orchestra of Excellence

Each year at regional concert performance assessment events around the state, orchestras are adjudicated and rated in concert performance and sight-reading. Some excellent orchestras that achieve the top rating of overall Superior from all judges both on stage and in sight-reading will be recognized by TnASTA with the Orchestra of Excellence in Concert Performance award.

Orchestras that qualify for Orchestra of Excellence in Concert Performance should apply following their regional Concert Performance Event. Please email the name of the ensemble, school address, and a scan of all completed judges’ sheets to the TnASTA president. Your current TnASTA president is Lori McDermott.
